... the desire to use a natural pattern is strong. That fish was literally eating the fly, i could feel it going chomp,chomp,chomp on the hang-down but no pull....i finally decided "alright enough foreplay, are you a trout or a steelhead?" I set the hook hard, and found out soon enough as an 11lb native just about pulled me into the river! I guess it was not happy when the crittery fly bit back, I should have said, " sorry, this might hurt a little." Miguel Morejohn
