Starting off the New Year

Adam Tavender on the gun, me trying out the new panorama feature on the Iphone.
Spontaneous trips are the best and a great way to start off the new year, creating new friendships and fishing new water. Flyfishing continually links us with great people.

I was ringing out ounces of water from my socks. Aqua seal is amazing stuff!

BC First

Its been eight years since I last passed through Smithers, Marty and I fished for a few days then, I was new to Steelhead fishing and left Smithers without touching a Steelhead.
The feeling I had then hasn't changed. The vastness of the country, watching eagles soar above and standing in rivers that spread over miles of country is mind-boggling. Over the last week Kimi and I fished new water, landed our first BC Steelhead that popped our cherry, and shared lots of good laughs with new friends. Needless to say we wont wait another eight years to return. Thanks Hannah for the cozy room and thanks Nelly for helping Kimi empty that bottle of Dryfly. Kimi pumps'em up.

On the road in BC

W e're on the road, heading to Smithers, BC to fish a few days and hang out with fellow flyfishergirls. The Thompson river is still closed to Steelhead fishing so we b-lined it North. Made it to Smithers last night!! Tegan has been a trooper (thanks to portable DVD players and Dora the Explorer.)

Bulkley Steelhead

Kevin Lands a Bulkley Steelhead

Counting down the days to our road trip to BC. Tegan, my good friend Kimberly,
and I will be driving up end of October. The last time I pasted by Smithers was in
the fall of 2003, when Marty kidnapped me and brought me back to Oregon from Alaska. We stayed there for a week fishing the Bulkley and Kispiox Rivers.
I'm super stoked to get back up there, its been to long.
